Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.

Star of new viral Netflix show Tiger King Joe Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage)has been hospitalised, it has reported.

There are fears the TV sensation may have caught covid-19 in the Texas prison where he is currently serving time for 17 charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire.

According to the Mirror, his 24-year-old husband Dillon Passage, recently spoke out to say he was concerned Joe would contract the potentially deadly virus, as it was present in his last prison.
