'There are a minority who think they're above the law...' GMP issue over 100 fines for Covid breaches this weekend
manchestereveningnews.co.ukdirect to your inboxGreater Manchester Police have issued more than 100 fines to people for breaching lockdown restrictions this weekend.Between 3pm on Friday (15 January) and 7am this morning (Sunday 17), the force said they had given out 110 Fixed Penalty Notices for Covid regulation breaches.The majority of the fines were slapped on those attending house parties, with some larger gatherings also reported to police.This included a large party of over 40 people at a flat on Derby Street in Cheetham Hill in the early hours of Sunday morning, which saw one person fined.
Revellers were caught on camera as they fled the apartment block as up to 20 police officers descended on the property.Guests could be heard shouting and laughing as they ran.
