The Serpent viewers mock Jenna Coleman’s French accent with some saying it’s worse than Del Boy’s

FANS have blasted Jenna Coleman’s dodgy French accent in BBC’s The Serpent. The actress plays Marie-Andrée Leclerc, lover of 70s serial killer Charles Sobhraj.

Former Doctor Who assistant Jenna, 34, learned to speak French-Canadian lingo, Quebecois, for the role. But some viewers accused her of pronouncing Kashmir’s Dal Lake as “Dalek”.

Subtitles also translated the line, “I’m giving you lots of big kisses” as “I’m sick of Quebec”. Others said her mangled words were like Peter Sellers’ Inspector Clouseau or Kirsten Cooke’s resistance agent Michelle in sitcom ’Allo ’Allo!’.
