2020 has been one hell of a year and thanks to Google’s ‘Year In Search’ we can look back on some of the highlights we may have missed.

Lockdown hobbies (or rather necessities) and COVID-related queries topped the ‘How To’ list in Ireland and the top result might come as a surprise.

The top two ‘How To’ results were ‘How to make a face mask’ and ‘How to make hand sanitiser’. How to cut men’s hair and your own hair also made the list with how to make banana bread only landing in sixth place.

The top overall searches saw the US Election take the top stop from Coronavirus but there was a surprise in third. Love Island’s Caroline Flack was the third most-searched for term following her tragic death in February last year.
