Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard has fired a warning to academy players that they won't get a chance unless they drop any showings of ego. The Ibrox gaffer claims that there are players within the youth system who are getting too big for their boots around the Rangers Training Centre.

But he did heap praise on trio Nathan Patterson, Lewis Mayo and Jamie Barjonas for their attitude and insists all three will continue to get opportunities at Ibrox.Criticism has been aimed at Gerrard during his time in charge about a lack of academy players being promoted despite many being highly-rated.Recent discussion has centred around Kai Kennedy, who is set to leave the club after deciding against signing a new deal that was on the table.
