Sir Billy Connolly is to be sold to raise funds for a transport museum. The 120-year-old horse-drawn carriage was a present for the Big Yin from his wife Pamela Stephenson on his 60th birthday.
They kept it at their former home, Candacraig House in Aberdeenshire, for years before giving it to the Grampian Transport Museum in nearby Alford. When bosses contacted the family to arrange returning it, they said it should be sold to raise funds.Museum curator Mike Ward said: “We are very grateful to the Connolly family for allowing us to sell it to raise funds for the museum.“I am sure it will attract a lot of interest given its provenance.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here. .
