Scots may see white Christmas this year as experts make early festive forecast

Christmas this year. The Met Office has provided its most up to date long range weather forecast for the UK in the fortnight between December 15 and December 29.

Weather conditions are expected to be ‘changeable’ with rain expected to dominate the forecast over this period. But experts have also indicated that snow could land in the country over high ground, with the possibility of it falling to lower levels at some point.

Temperatures are also anticipated to be “near or a little below average” according to the 14 day prediction.An expected date of the snowfall is yet to be given in the Met Office’s current long range forecast.If snow were to fall on December 25, it would be the first white Christmas recorded in Scotland in a decade.
