Scotrail fare dodger hit with £3000 bill after taking free trains for 53 days

Scotrail have issued the biggest ever bill for unpaid tickets to a passenger in Edinburgh, demanding a sum of over £3000. The fair-dodger spent 53 days avoiding paying for journeys.

The team at Edinburgh’s Waverley station were alerted to the repeated misuse of the Ticket On Departure option from a ticket machine in Bellshill station for journeys between Haymarket, Slateford and Curriehill into Edinburgh.
