The 23-year-old has signed from Benfica for £65.2m in what is a club record transfer for the Blues as they hope to have secured the long-term successor to Vincent Kompany.

Dias flew to Manchester on Monday to complete the deal, and asked in advance for an extra shirt to be made available at his signing - not uncommon given players and their nearest and dearest want to mark the day.

However, when he arrived at the training ground the player asked for the shirt to be used to help raise money for a local charity.
