When you think of the Regency era you immediately think of Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Jane Eyre. All very proper romances with very proper rules and regulations.

We mean we think the most sensual part of the 2005 Pride and Prejudice is that dramatic handhold as Elizabeth leaves Mr Darcy.

So if you expecting Bridgerton to be the same then we are sorry to say that it is a lot racier and a lot more scandalous. To be fair it is from the Shondaland family, you should have known that it’s gonna bring the heat!

When Nicola Coughlan described it as a period drama on acid, she certainly wasn’t wrong. There is scandal, sex and salacious gossip.
