RED Dwarf's Danny John-Jules has claimed "rubbish" TV diversity tussles "make him laugh through his teeth". The 59-year-old actor has played Cat since the hit series began in 1988, and will don the character's signature quiff hairstyle once more in an upcoming feature length episode on UKTV channel, Dave.
Danny stars alongside Craig Charles, Chris Barrie and Robert Llewellyn in the series, and shared his thoughts on the show's legacy in a new interview.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: " It was totally ahead of its time. All this rubbish they’re talking about diversity today makes me laugh through my teeth. "Red Dwarf should have been held up as a bastion of diversity in television.
