Ralf Rangnick believes he is 'in the right place at the right time' to turn around Manchester United's season. United are seventh and 14 points off Premier League leaders Manchester City, having lost five games and conceded 24 goals - as many as they have scored.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked two weeks ago and Rangnick will take charge of United for the first time against Crystal Palace today.
The 63-year-old Germany impressed during his introductory press conference on Friday morning and struck a bullish tone in his first programme notes, dismissing United's season so far as 'average'.
