Post Office personal cash deposits top £1bn as more bank customers use counter services

dailyrecord.co.ukPost Office branches topped £1 billion for the second month in a row in April. The Post Office said it is the first time that personal deposits have been in excess of £1 billion for two successive months.
Some £1.07 billion was deposited over its counters, following personal cash deposits of £1.12 billion in March. Personal cash withdrawals totalled £589.9 million in April - nearly identical to March.
Business cash deposits totalled £769 million, up 8.8 per cent month on month. In comparison with April 2020 when the UK was in the first full month of lockdown, business cash deposits were up by 146 per cent year on year.Martin Kearsley, banking director at the Post Office, said: "Overall cash deposits and withdrawals continue to recover as.
