Watch Slipknot’s cinematic new video for ‘Yen’
Slipknot have shared a cinematic new video for their recently released new single, ‘Yen’ – check it out below.The video is a six-and-a-half-minute short film which sees frontman Corey Taylor in a number of dramatic situations and gives a closer look at Sid Wilson’s mask.The song is taken from the band’s upcoming new album, ‘The End, So Far’, which is released on September 30 via Roadrunner Records, marking the band’s final record with the label after first signing with them in 1998. You can pre-order the album here.The song was described in a press statement as “a showcase of Slipknot’s exceptional range” and a record that sees the band “charting new ground as they continue to redefine, revitalise, and reimagine the scope of rock music.” It follows on from their previous single, ‘The Dying Song’.Check out the new video here:Recently, Taylor discussed his mindset while writing the band’s upcoming album ‘The End, So Far’ in an interview with Kerrang.The frontman referred to the band’s sixth album, ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, as a “palette” cleanser before sharing that writing their seventh “felt almost like a reset”.“I could get away from the shit that I’ve needed to say, and get back to the stuff that I want to say,” he continued.He also shared the meaning behind ‘The Dying Song’ during the interview, saying that “For the last few years it’s been very trendy to be offended and outraged by everything, and yet nothing happens – especially in my country, which is just fucking ridiculous.”He added: “It’s almost like the tables have turned, and the more angry people get, the more the people who they’re mad at just double-down on the shit.
