Cannes First Look: Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Swashbuckling British Explorer James Brooke in 'Rajah' (Exclusive)
Having portrayed Henry VIII in The Tudors, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has now ventured to the other side of the world to play a lesser known British ruler. In this exclusive first look for Margate House Films' period epic Rajah, the Irish actor — recently seen in The Vikings — stars as Sir James Brooke, a swashbuckling 19th century explorer whose fight for the indigenous people of Borneo saw him become the real-life role model for Joseph Conrad's novel Lord Jim and Rudyard Kipling's The Man Who Would Be King.
