Anders Danielsen Lie: Celebs Rumors

Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentAudrey Diwan’s “Happening,” Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog,” Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s “Drive My Car” and Terence Davies’s “Benediction” won top prizes at the 19th ICS Awards which are handed out by the International Cinephile Society. This edition marks a milestone with female talents winning best picture, director, animated film, documentary, debut feature, breakthrough performance and cinematography.“Happening,” a timely abortion drama set in 1960’s France, took home best picture, while its star, Anamaria Vartolomei, won best breakthrough performance.

Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve took the world by storm in 2021 when she starred in, dazzling everyone with her lead appearance in Joachim Trier’s “The Worst Person in the World.” It wasn’t her debut performance, but it sure felt like it and was a major breakthrough nonetheless. Her performance earned her the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress and a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and she’s taken off ever since.

The filmmaker’s tart and scabrously funny (both literally and figuratively) sophomore feature is a pointed portrait of a toxic relationship and a razor-sharp evisceration of those warped by a victim mentality.

Joachim Trier’s “The Worst Person in the World” is finally gracing America’s theaters and not only will moviegoers be able to catch the best movie of 2021, as well as BAFTA Best Actress nominee Renate Reinsve, but the movie’s secret weapon, Anders Danielsen Lie’s heartbreaking performance. Amazingly, Danielsen Lie is a celebrated actor who somehow manages a side career as a practicing medical doctor.

The National Society of Film Critics has named Drive My Car for its Best Picture Awards of 2021.
