Leeds, under the guidance of Guardiola's mentor Marcelo Bielsa, recovered from play-off disappointment last year to win the Championship this season.
Their promotion means Guardiola will come up against Bielsa in 2020/21, after the City coach spent time with the Argentine coach in his formative years as a coach.
Guardiola credits Bielsa with playing a huge part in shaping his coaching philosophy, and took the opportunity to congratulate Leeds on ending their 16-year exile from the Premier League.
