Oscar Isaac is getting candid about his new show Moon Knight. The actor stars in Marvel‘s new Disney+ series, in which he plays a superhero given the powers of an ancient Egyptian god.
In an interview with Jared Leto for Variety‘s Actors on Actors series, Oscar explained why he was thankful that Marvel had decided to adapt the comics as a television show rather than a movie. Click inside to read more… “There was a lot of room to try stuff because there wasn’t the pressure that we got to make sure we make however many hundreds of millions of dollars on the opening weekend,” he said. “So we could make it very point-of-view.
We could make very weird decisions. At the moment, at least — and I don’t imagine it’s going to go backwards — it feels like that’s where more of the risk is being taken because it can, financially.” Oscar has starred in a number of blockbuster franchises over the years, playing Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and appearing as a villain in X-Men: Apocalypse.
He went on to discuss his excitement about the new Marvel character, adding that he was a big comic book fan growing up and even he hadn’t heard of Moon Knight.
