coronavirus deaths in Scotland overnight. The First Minister also confirmed there were 1,216 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 69,660 since the pandemic began in March.

Scotland's death toll from the virus currently stands at 2,966.Currently, 1,252 people are in hospital with the virus, with 95 of those in intensive care.A geographical breakdown of the new registered cases revealed 481 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, 236 were in Lanarkshire, 80 in Tayside, 80 in Ayrshire and Arran and 128 in Lothian.The rest were spread across the other health board areas.It comes after Scotland introduced a new five-tier lockdown system went into force across the country yesterday.
