Road users are calling for new Highway Code rules to be scrapped just days after they were introduced. Action group 'Voters for Motors' are set to meet today - Tuesday February 1 - in a bid to discuss potentially reverting on the newly update Highway Code changes.
The group argues that the rules - which prioritise pedestrians and cyclists - should be ditched to ensure risk of road traffic accidents is limited.
The say that the recently introduced measures could actually create more dangerous conditions on the roads, reports The Express.'Voters for Motors' is formed of a group of individuals from organisations such as FairFuelUK, the Motorcycle Action Group and the Alliance of British Drivers.
Voters for Motors said they planned to assemble today over Zoom to discuss how they can challenge the new Highway Code. A spokesperson said: “Our concerns over the Highway Code include the fact that encouraging the undertaking and overtaking of vehicles intending to turn by cyclists will cause more crashes that drivers will be blamed for under the new ‘hierarchy of road users’,” they told MailOnline.
