Melissa Etheridge performed a Billboard Live At-Home concert on Friday (April 10) to raise money for Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing “restorative justice” to those incarcerated due to cannabis-based offenses.
The folk icon aimed to keep everyone’s spirits high throughout her 30-minute set, going out of her way to play uplifting tracks to get people “chair-dancing,” as she put it.
That included her Orlando-inspired anthem “Pulse” and fan favorites like “You Can Sleep While I Drive” and “If I Wanted To.” Speaking directly with her fans watching, Etheridge lamented the fact that she can’t be with them on tour right now. “I miss people.
