J.K. Rowling is facing renewed criticism after making several anti-transgender tweets on Saturday (June 6), and some artists aren't being shy about calling her out.
The firestorm kicked off when the author, known for her wildly popular Harry Potter novels, shared an opinion piece on Twitter that featured the headline "Creating a More Equal Post-COVID-19 World for People Who Menstruate" along with her own message: "'People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people.
Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" As noted by some of the responses to her tweet, which was made during Pride Month and in the midst of the Black Lives Matter protests, transgender people as well as gender non-conforming and non-binary people
