Robert Gaskell struck up a relationship with the teenage girl in May 2018, a court heard. The 29-year-old, from Ashton-under-Lyne, knew the girl was of school age when he sexually exploited her.

He offered her drugs and bought her alcohol and cigarettes. Gaskell also isolated his victim from her family and friends, despite her young age.

He was arrested after his victim bravely came forward to the police. Gaskell, of Whiteacre Road, Ashton, pleaded guilty to Child Sexual Exploitation offences, including engaging in sexual activity with a child under
