The smash happened at around 1am this morning at the junction of Wharf Street and King Street in Dukinfield. A car and an ambulance, which was carrying two paramedics, hit each other.

The NWAS crew members suffered no injuries but the ambulance was severely damaged. Police said four people were believed to have been in the car.

One of the people was found in the boot - he suffered 'severe leg injuries'. A woman, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and other driving offences.
