Man, 34, dies in horror crash - five other people including two children injured

The smash happened at the junction of Long Causeway and Albert Road in Farnworth just before 11pm last night. A black Fiat 500 and a silver Vauxhall Insignia collided with each other, police said.

The driver of the Fiat - a 34-year-old man - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The force said five other people, aged between seven and 28, were treated for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said two children were taken to hospital, alongside three adults. No arrests have been made.
