Love Island fans have called for the show to ditch the “dull” money twist at the end of the final after winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon split the £50,000 prize. The twist at the end of each series sees the show’s winners provided with an envelope, with one containing £50,000 and the other completely empty. The contestant who is awarded the prize money then has to decide if they’re in it for “love or money” and pick whether or not to take home the full amount for themselves or split it with their co-star.
After picking the envelope containing the jackpot, host Laura Whitmore asked Millie if she was going to: “Split or steal?” The Essex-born star replied that she was of course choosing “love”, leaving Laura having to confirm she did.
