The comedian, who is married to Melanie Bishop, explained that he was travelling to attend his father-in-law’s funeral, which is today, and dropped some items off at his parents’ home on the way.
In the photo, which was posted on Wednesday night, the father-of-three can be seen taking a selfie with his mum and dad, Kathy and Ernie, standing together in the background outside the front door of their home.
John, 53, explained that he has followed “all the guidelines” about social distancing and will not break any rules “that would affect the NHS or frontline workers”.
