Spotify has launched a new concert tickets website where fans can buy gig tickets directly from the streaming service.The website, Spotify Tickets, went live yesterday (August 10). According to MusicAlly, the site is “strictly a test rather than a full commercial launch”.Through the site, Spotify users can buy tickets for a string of upcoming US shows by TOKiMONSTA, Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Crows, Dirty Honey, Four Years Strong and Osees.

Microsoft has alleged that Sony has a practice of paying developers “blocking rights” to stop games from being launched on Xbox Game Pass.The statement has been filed in response to Sony’s recent comments on Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Speaking to a Brazilian regulatory body, Sony claimed  Microsoft acquiring Call Of Duty would make it challenging to rival; which would in turn have an effect on what console gamers chose to play their titles on.Now (via The Verge), Microsoft has argued that Sony is still large enough to rival the company, and claims ongoing business practices show Sony is actively doing so.“Microsoft’s ability to continue expanding Game Pass has been hampered by Sony’s desire to inhibit such growth,” claimed the company, explaining that “Sony pays for ‘blocking rights’ to prevent developers from adding content to Game Pass and other competing subscription services.”Microsoft went on to say that Sony’s concerns over the acquisition are “incoherent,” and says it reveals “a fear about an innovative business model that offers high-quality content at low costs to gamers.”How Microsoft’s ongoing acquisition of Activision Blizzard will affect the games industry has been under scrutiny since it was announced.

Call of Duty: Warzone being removed by Activision Blizzard due to accusations of plagiarism, the publisher has issued an apology to the original artist.Artist Sail Lin took to Twitter on July 29 to allege their original work from 2019 had been stolen by the company, pointing out clear imitations by Activision for the “Loyal Samoyed” skin in Call of Duty: Warzone.Lin told Kotaku that they hadn’t been in contact with Activision and had no idea that the publisher was going to add the skin to the game. Both versions have the same backpack, hip pouch and elbow pad as well as clothing being virtually identical, with no colour changes being made.At the time, Lin had reached out to Activision for an “explanation or compensation” and hoped the situation would be “settled soon”.

Michael Jackson estate and Sony Music, that alleged the label had released songs by a Jackson impersonator, has been settled after eight years.Back in 2014, Jackson fan Vera Serova filed a class-action lawsuit against Sony Music, the Jackson estate and producers.They claimed that three cuts on the late singer’s posthumous 2010 album ‘Michael’ – ‘Monster’ (featuring 50 Cent), ‘Keep Your Head Up’ and ‘Breaking News’ – were sold as official Jackson recordings, despite multiple accusations that they’d been sung by someone else.In 2010, Jackson’s mother Katherine Jackson claimed that “some of the tracks on the album are fake”. His sister LaToya Jackson said: “It doesn’t sound like him.” Taryll Jackson, Jackson’s nephew, also commented on how the songs had been made in a “sneaky and sly” fashion.Some Jackson fans have long disputed the assertion that the tracks actually feature the artist’s vocals.Last month, ‘Monster’, ‘Keep Your Head Up’ and ‘Breaking News’ were all removed from the ‘Michael’ album on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music.In a statement, a spokesperson for Jackson’s official website confirmed that the songs were no longer available online, but claimed the move “had nothing to do with their authenticity” (via American Songwriter).The message added: “The Estate and Sony Music believe the continuing conversation about the tracks is distracting the fan community and casual Michael Jackson listeners from focusing their attention where it should be, on Michael’s legendary and deep music catalogue.”According to Rolling Stone, the lawsuit finally reached its conclusion yesterday (August 10) in the California Supreme Court.

Rolling Stone now reports that Vermont State Police attempted to serve an emergency care order to the woman over the weekend which demanded the children’s removal from her care over fears for their safety.As reported by the outlet, Miller claimed the family hadn’t lived there for months, with police suspecting this was an attempt to “evade service” of the order, according to court documents.“Miller, the owner of the residence, advised that mother and the children had not been staying there for the past two months,” the order reads. “This contradicts information [the DCF caseworker] presented to the court in her affidavit as mother was posting on social media in late July 2022 that [the case worker] recognised as the inside of Miller’s residence.”NME has reached out to Miller’s reps for comment.In June, Rolling Stone reported that Miller had been hosting the mother and her children at the actor’s farm, an arrangement which sparked safety concerns with the children’s father due to claims that unattended guns were left lying around the property.In response, the mother claimed the ranch had become a “healing haven” for the family.

US comic - who starred in Netflix’s Big Mouth and Peacock show Bust Down - died on Thursday night in Los Angeles, his family confirmed. No cause of death was given. Knight was most recognised for his voice work on the 2017 series Big Mouth which he also co-wrote for five seasons.

A cause of death was not given. He was 28.Knight co-created “Bust Down,” which premiered this March, with Jay, Langston Kerman and Chris Redd, all of whom starred in the series.
