Gwyrch Castle, was one of the most complained about TV broadcasts, a recent report said. In total 11,516 people made complaints regarding the use of live animals in trials on the show, which has previously attracted controversy.

The RSPCA also raised "serious concerns" over I'm a Celebrity's use of animals as the hit ITV series got underway in the castle near Abergele, during November 2020.
