Kamaran Khader, 38, is lying low in ­Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, after a botched Greenock murder bid.And Iraqi court documents obtained by the Record say he was told his life was still at risk.Two of Khader’s associates told the authorities he received a phone call from a rival who said they would try to kill him.And the court papers also show Khader, who headed a £28million British cigarette smuggling ring, shelled out thousands of pounds to remain a free man – after being arrested on gun charges.The documents, which are from Kurdistani courts and have been badly translated into English, show four statements were made saying Khader’s life was at risk.And it’s claimed those making the threats boasted of their alliance with the police, Kurdistani.
