'Fit and healthy' nurse, 36, fighting for life in intensive care after contracting coronavirus

An NHS nurse is fighting for her life in hospital after contracting coronavirus. Areema Nasreen, 36, is currently on a ventilator at Walsall Manor Hospital, Birmingham Live reports.

Before being diagnosed, the mum-of-three developed a soaring temperature, body aches and a cough - classic symptoms of COVID-19.

Despite usually being fit and healthy, with no underlying medical conditions, she is now  fighting for her life. Areema's sister has now urged others to take the disease seriously - emphasising that it is 'not just the elderly at risk'.
