Firefighters work through the night to tackle fire at recycling facility

Radcliffe. Several crews were called to the scene near Pioneer Mill, in Milltown Street, at about 8.10pm on Sunday (January 31).The blaze involved a 'large quantity of baled plastic', according to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS).Pictures shared on the Spotted:Radcliffe Facebook group showed a large amount of smoke billowing from the fire.Crews from across the region tackled the flames throughout the night.They remained at the scene on Monday afternoon.The cause of the fire is not yet known at this stage.A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At around 8.10pm on Sunday 31 January four fire engines, an aerial appliance, and the air unit from Whitefield, Broughton, Farnworth, Atherton and Agecroft, and Bolton Central fire stations.
