Operation Easter Egg hunt is underway. The countdown to series six of The Line of Duty is finally on and fans have been dissecting the latest trailer for ‘hidden clues’.

The BBC released the feature-length trailer on Tuesday and it didn’t take at-home detectives long to figure out that there was a QR code buried in the clip.

The news soon spread to Twitter and Reddit and gives away some very telling clues as to what we can expect in the forthcoming series.

When the code is scanned, which is visible on the front of a magazine, it reveals a ‘highly confidential’ PDF file dubbed Operation Easter Egg Hunt which turns out to be a letter from Chief Constable Philip Osborne (Owen Teale) to DCC Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider).
