direct to your inbox Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that schools will not reopen until March 8 earlier today.
In a Downing Street press conference he has explained what will need to happen in order for children to return safely back to school.It was initially suggested that schools might reopen after February half term.Speaking alongside Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Jonathan Van Tam and Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance, he said schools will only reopen once we see the effects of the current vaccine roll out.“When we look at the toll of the pandemic, we measure it not only on the loss of life, namely 100,000 deaths, and again I offer my condolences to family, friends, and friends of friends,” Mr Johnson.
