On the one hand, it was nice to have some levity. But on the other, we shouldn't make light or trivialize the coronavirus pandemic.
It's still very much a thing, people. Kimmel straight-up admitting the Emmys aren't necessary this year (or any year). “Why are we having an awards show in the middle of a pandemic?" he said.
