A Dumbarton domestic abuse charity has welcomed government funding to help them cope with an anticipated worrying rise in abuse due to Covid-19.Grants from the Scottish Government’s Communities Fund have been made to Scottish Women’s Aid and Rape Crisis Scotland to ensure victims still have access to methods of reporting crimes, including online video, text messaging and phone calls.Dumbarton District Women’s Aid say £1.35million will be split between the services across Scotland over the next six months.The Lennox Herald reported two weeks ago how the local group said the strict lockdown measures offer abusers more opportunity for control and may even be used as an excuse for torment.Fears OAP caught coronavirus from within the Vale of
