It's no secret that Love Island contestants have their phones taken off them as soon as they head to Mallorca, and while in the villa they have no contact at all with the outside world.
However, they are given a different phone to use during their stay in the iconic villa, which is most often used for producers to be able to contact them.
While Love Islanders can't scroll through Instagram or see what's happening in the news, they can text each other and receive messages from producers when there's about to be a plot twist - usually a recoupling or dumping.
