Wilson Chapman editorLiz Sheridan, the actor best know for her role as Jerry Seinfeld’s mother Helen in the classic sitcom “Seinfeld,” died on Friday, a representative confirmed to Variety. She was 93.Born in 1929, Sheridan got her start as a nightclub act, earning a living by dancing and playing in both New York City and Caribbean clubs.

Directors Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan are both seemingly attempting to cram as many actors as humanly possible into their respective films. The former is behind a live-action “Barbie” movie that sees Aussie actress Margot Robbie star/produce with a script that was co-written by Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story“), which has been collecting as many names as there are versions of the iconic doll.

Liz Sheridan, the witty and attentive actress who played the mother of Jerry Seinfeld’s character on "Seinfeld," has died just five days after her 93rd birthday. The longtime dancer and actress, who also made recurring appearances on "ALF," died peacefully in her sleep Friday morning, a close friend and rep for the veteran performer, Amanda Hendon, confirmed to Deadline.

“I see nothing happening on a major scale to try to get the older audiences back to theaters,” griped Sony Pictures Classics’ co-president Tom Bernard.
