Nicola Sturgeon is set to announce new lockdown measures to tackle coronavirus following a recent spike in infections. The First Minister indicated that new restrictions would be announced today following 'urgent' discussions.
She will address the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood later today following an emergency COBRA meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
So far Ayrshire has avoided new rules banning household visits like many other parts of the country.But leaders in Wales and Northern Ireland will also take part in today's discussion in a bid to find a UK-wide approach following a recent spike in infections.Cases across the country have increased over the last two weeks as different parts of the economy open up for the first time.
