Footage has emerged on social media of Scottish BMX riders flirting with danger as part of a disgraceful new TikTok trend. In the clip the young gilet-wearing rider pops a wheelie, riding his bike right up to the rear of a parked Lothian Bus on Edinburgh's Princes Street.
At the last second, he dramatically swerves out of the way of the bus and continues pedalling on his back wheel past the vehicle.
He comes dangerously close to tramlines - considered extremely dangerous for bicycles because of the risk of getting stuck - before pedalling towards another local bus and pulling the same move again.
The video has already gathered 300,000 views on TikTok, reports Edinburgh Live. Over 10,000 people have "liked" the video, which is simply captioned: "Getting better."The clip appears to be part of an emerging trend for "swerving" on the video sharing platform, which sees riders trying to get as close to an object as they can, before dramatically pulling their bikes out of the way.
