Dáithí Ó’Sé reveals Rose of Tralee special could air in place of contest

Rose of Tralee fans need not despair yet about the festival’s cancellation this year as its host Dáithí Ó’Sé is ‘100 per cent’ up for making a special show about the 60 years of the Co Kerry extravaganza.

News of the festival’s cancellation broke during the week but we may still get some Rose of Tralee-themed entertainment late in the summer if the show goes ahead.

Speaking to EVOKE as he urged the nation to enjoy hosting a Virtual Tea Day on 7 May to raise much-needed funds for Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Dáithí divulged that he’d love to make a programme looking back at six decades of the festival or the ten years he’s been hosting it.
