Boris Johnson claims the UK is ‘past the peak’ of the coronavirus outbreak as the number of new cases appear to fall. The Prime Minister made his first appearance at the UK Government’s daily briefing on Covid-19 today since he fell seriously unwell with the virus earlier this month.
Johnson revealed that the UK’s official coronavirus death toll in hospitals, care homes and in the wider community reached a total of 26,711 - a rise of 674 since yesterday.
