MEL Gibson has been axed from the Netflix Chicken Run sequel. It comes after the actor - who played Rocky in the 2000 original - was accused of making an anti-Semitic remark to Winona Ryder.

Netflix and Aardman Studios announced today that Mel Gibson wouldn’t be returning to the Chicken Run sequel as originally planned. Fans of the classic animated film know that the Lethal Weapon star voiced one of its central characters, Rocky, but a source who spoke with Newsweek said that studios scrapped the plan.

Mel Gibson won’t be reprising his role in Netflix’s highly anticipated “Chicken Run” sequel, sources with knowledge of the production told TheWrap. The decision comes after Winona Ryder accused the 64-year-old “Braveheart” star Sunday of leveling anti-Semitic remarks at her during a 1995 Hollywood soiree — and subsequent calls for his cancellation on social media. The Oscar-winning director’s reps have since denied Ryder’s allegations in an emailed statement to The Post.
