Season four of began with Issa (Issa Rae) declaring, «I don't f**k with Molly anymore» — but we didn't know how bad it really was until this week's episode. 

First generation Haitian-American actor Jéan Elie is getting a lot of love for his portrayal of Ahmal, Issa Dee’s no-holds-barred younger brother on HBO’s Insecure. Ahmal is gay, but Elie makes it his business to subvert stereotypes about Black gay men and give Ahmal the complexity he deserves.

Remember when Jidenna made a cameo on Insecure back in 2016? When he was a “Classic Man,” the singer-rapper appeared in all his glory on season one as Yvonne Orji’s onscreen date, Chris, from the super-selective online dating website, The League. (If you don’t remember, Orji’s character Molly somehow managed to ruin that relationship as well).

Congrats are in order after HBO announced Friday that one of our favorite shows, Insecure, has been renewed for a fifth season.

Since its inception in 2016, HBO series Insecure has had its hand on the pulse of exciting music being made across multiple genres, sometimes even before the masses catch wind of it. That track record has continued through the years and has evolved into Raedio, a new label founded by Issa Rae and a joint venture with Atlantic Records. . Over the past few weeks, the new label has started to roll out tracks featured on the soundtrack for Insecure's fourth season, which premiered on Sunday, April 12th.

With HBO’s Insecure back on the air for its fourth season, Issa Rae continues her reign as a choice advocate for great music. For the show’s premiere episode, “Lowkey Feelin’ Myself,” her selections such as “A BOY IS A GUN” from Tyler, the Creator’s 2019 album IGOR and new songs by Yung Baby Tate (“Never Lonely”) and Pink Sweat$ (“Ride With Me”) made the night an event for millions of viewers. And now, ahead of the series’ third episode, Issa and her Raedio label are releasing a chakra-realigning new song by a returning Jidenna.
