Citizens Advice Scotland is calling for changes to help improve digital access for people across the country after the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns highlighted the need for the ability to stay connected online from home, whether for work, staying informed or interacting with welfare services.
A new briefing from the charity discovered that one in seven people (15%) found the current costs of their i nternet or mobile phone contracts unaffordable in relation to their personal income.
In order to ensure that everyone can access the internet to carry out everyday activities, such as banking, paying bills or staying connected with loved ones, Citizens Advice believes that everyone should have access to affordable broadband.
