Bridgerton star Luke Newton has opened up about how starring as Colin Bridgerton in the hit Netflix series has completely changed his life.
Speaking on Monday 28 March's episode of ITV morning show Lorraine, Luke, 29, revealed that he was '"living on his mate's sofa" and working in a bar before he landed the sought after role – one of the ensemble characters in series two of the regency-themed drama.The actor told the show's host Lorraine Kelly: "When I booked the job I was living on my mate's sofa bed and I was working in a bar, and I actually drove past the bar the other week.

Revealing herself to be a big fan of the series, Lorraine said Luke's success was "obviously" due to his "ability," and added: "Sometimes it's luck, and sometimes the stars align in the right place at the right time." Looking back on when he first took on the role, Luke admitted he had no idea how big the show would go on to become.
