Until 2021, Red Nose Day was held every other year, but it will now be held annually. The run-up to the big day usually involves fundraising events across the UK for charity Comic Relief.
TV specials are also aired throughout the week, concluding with a live Red Nose Day telethon, hosted by Comic Relief co-founder Sir Lenny Henry.
