Bayern Munich are back in for the German winger as another transfer window comes into view, having spent considerable effort 12 months ago trying to prise him away from the Etihad.
City's stance has not changed from then in the sense that they would like the player to stay and a new contract offer remains on the table, but accept that it is up to the player and Pep Guardiola does not want to keep stars that would rather be elsewhere.
The Blues put a £145m price-tag on Sane last year when Bayern sources were talking about a value of £90m, and a deal was further complicated by the serious injury the 24-year-old picked up in the Community
