Kilmarnock Standard paperboy Lewis Barnie trekked a mammoth 96 miles to raise funds for a national motor neurone disease charity after his friend’s dad’s tragic death.The 16-year-old completed the mammoth West Highland Way walk in July and raised £965 for MyName'5Doddie and presented the cheque last month.The charity is named after Scotland rugby legend Doddie Weir who was diagnosed with MND in June 2017.Determined Lewis was set to put his best foot forward last May but due to Covid had to wait until July.He said: "I had always wanted to do the West Highland Way walk and then after one of my close friend's dad died last February – after living with MND – I decided it would be a good way to raise funds."We started in Milngavie and ended up.
