In 24 hours, the neighbouring districts have seen a man blasted in the leg and two shots fired at a house. Senior detectives say the two incidents are not linked.

They also believe they are not associated with a long-running three-way feud involving two Cheetham Hill crime gangs and a third from Salford which is being investigated by GMP's Operation Haemus.

The two shootings come after a relative lull in gun crime in the areas compared to last year and 2019. Inquires are on-going to establish what it is behind both attacks, which are only just over a mile apart from
